916 SBK

In November 1993 Ducati launches the bike that has been defined as the most beautiful of the last 30 years: the 916.

Massimo Tamburini’s masterpiece debuted in Superbike with Carl Fogarty, in 1994.

At the end of the ’95 season, Fogarty left Ducati to race for Honda.

Troy Corser won his first Superbike title in 1996 on a 916.

In 1995 Corser was already the lead rider on the private team Ducati Power Horse.

The Australian rider boasted previous experience with Ducati in the AMA Championship in the U.S.

Corser’s world title led Ducati to win its sixth constructor’s title and the second title won by a private team.

A nice shot of Troy Corser in action in 1996.

Troy Corser won the World Superbike Championship in 1996 riding the 916 under the guidance of then team manager Davide Tardozzi.

Only a phenomenal bike like the 916 could make the 888 seems like old news.

Not only was it more powerful, but it was also lighter.
Handsome and with a timeless grace, it boasted a speed matched by a comparable maneuverability and had an engine that was even compared to a fine vintage of wine.
