As the excitement continues for the most anticipated motorcycle show of the season, Ducati descends upon the Salón Internacional de la Motocicleta México (SIMM), held at the Expo Bancomer Center in Santa Fe with exciting business news, ground breaking project news and the unveiling of a new 2012 model year line up.
As the momentum of 2011 continues, with a dealer network and sales that have doubled in a year’s time in Mexico, Ducati is pleased to announce the new 2012 models that are making their debut at SIMM. The most notable of which is the much-anticipated
Ducati Streetfighter 848, taking center stage throughout the weekend for the public to experience firsthand. This unveiling marks the very first appearance of this motorcycle in North America. Featuring the new Testastretta 11 degree engine, increased ergonomics, smooth power delivery and amazing handling, the Streetfighter 848 will be a SIMM “must see”.
In addition to the SF 848 are the Hypermotard 1100 SP, Streetfighter 1098 and 848 EVO. Ducati is also presenting the Diavel family, including the sleek
Diavel Carbon, the complete Multistrada family, including the new
Pikes Peak edition, as well as the entire Monster family, including the
Monster 1100 EVO, for the first public appearance since its launch.
Rounding out the display, in celebration of the
2011 World Superbike Championship win, is an exact replica of Carlos Checa’s race-winning Ducati 1198. Checa’s victory enabled Ducati to celebrate their 17th Manufacturers’ title, underlining the continued passion they have for the production-based World Superbike series.
