Did you know…?

- In the last three seasons, Andrea Dovizioso has been the only rider to finish in the top two in the first race of the year.

- With his second place in Qatar, Andrea Dovizioso has stood on the podium 13 times while riding for Ducati, the highlight being the victory he achieved last year at Sepang.

- This will be the thirteenth edition of the Argentine Grand Prix and the fourth time it is held at the Termas de Río Hondo circuit.

- Last year in Argentina, the two factory Ducatis clocked the two highest speeds in the race, and in the previous two races at this circuit the Ducati has been the fastest bike.

- The second position achieved by Dovizioso in 2015 is the best result achieved by a Ducati in Argentina.

- Last year, Dovizioso was in reach of what would have been his second consecutive podium in Argentina, when in the last corner he was hit from behind and taken out of the race.

- Jorge Lorenzo finished third in the 2014 race, which has been his best result in Argentina so far.

- Last year's race was disputed under "Flag to Flag" regulations for safety reasons. The race was reduced to 20 laps and no rider could do more than 11 consecutive laps on the same tyre.

- The Argentine circuit is the fastest in the championship after Phillip Island, with an average speed of 177 km/h, and featuring thrilling corners such as Turn 6, which is taken in 4th gear at 220 km/h, or the longest straight, on which bikes reach 340 km/h.

- The first corner is the most critical point on the entire track, where the greatest numbers of crashes occur. Of the 24 falls that occurred last year, 15 were in this turn.

- The circuit has one of the five heaviest braking points on the whole calendar. It occurs at the entrance of turn 5, where speeds go from 340 km/h down to 75 km/h.

- Michael Doohan, with 3 wins, is the rider with the most victories on Argentine soil. In addition, it was in Argentina where he would achieve his final victory in the championship.
